FRC Team 6647 — VOLTEC Alliance
PrepaTec Monterrey's competitive robotics program. We compete in FRC while mentoring 11 FTC teams and running 4 FLL teams across Nuevo León, México.
About Us
VOLTEC is PrepaTec Monterrey's robotics program, competing in FIRST Robotics Competition as Team 6647 since 2017. We are a student-led team that builds more than robots — we build engineers, leaders, and community.
As the VOLTEC Alliance, our mission extends beyond our own team. We have grown into a full ecosystem that supports FRC, FTC, and FLL programs across Nuevo León, reaching thousands of students who otherwise would not have access to STEM opportunities.
FIRST Programs
We compete and mentor across all three levels of FIRST — FRC, FTC, and FLL — creating a complete STEM pipeline from elementary school through high school.
Our flagship FIRST Robotics Competition team. We design, build, and compete with a full-scale industrial robot in six weeks, facing teams from across Mexico and the globe at regionals and the FIRST Championship.
We mentor and support 11 FIRST Tech Challenge teams — 4 within our school and 7 launched through our rural outreach initiative in Nuevo León, directly training 73 students and 14 professors.
We run 4 FIRST LEGO League teams composed of VOLTEC Institute students. FLL introduces elementary and middle schoolers to robotics missions, core values, and project-based engineering.
Competition Robots
Each season we design and build a new robot in six weeks. Here's a look at our recent competition history.
Our current competition robot for the 2026 FRC season. Follow our build thread on Chief Delphi for the latest updates.
Our 2025 REEFSCAPE robot earned us two Regional banners and multiple awards across the season.
Our 2024 CRESCENDO robot claimed the prestigious FIRST Impact Award and a Regional banner at Hermosillo.

Community
We believe FIRST is for everyone. Our outreach programs extend our impact far beyond our own school.
Free Saturday robotics and STEM classes open to the entire community. Over 2,000 children from 40+ schools have been trained, with FLL and FTC as structured pathways.
We inspired 7 rural public high schools in Nuevo León to launch FTC teams, training 73 students and 14 professors, for a total of 11 FTC teams mentored across the region.
Our annual congress dedicated to promoting women in STEAM fields, dismantling gender stereotypes and inspiring the next generation of female leaders.
A volunteer network of 300+ FIRST alumni who mentor, coach, and inspire new teams across Monterrey — building a lasting culture of STEM excellence.
